Happy Snaps: Tenby and Amroth

We're now back from our week in Wales (via family in Birmingham and a wedding in Nottingham!) and our noses are firmly back on the grindstone, I am editing my thousands of words and looking for jobs and C is back on the old engineering malarky. One more gratuitous post of shots of Pembrokeshire and then I shall move on to more crafty adventures I promise ;)

We spent most of our time between Tenby and Amroth this time, mostly sunny weather with a few clouds. Here are some shots of Tenby with its lovely houses, harbour, coastline and coastal defences...






















It's so lovely. There are two islands in the photos, Caldey Island and St Catherine's. Caldey is inhabited by monks, and is such a wonderful place. They allow visitors during the summer, and you can look at the beautiful island as well as the history of its connection to the Catholic Church. We didn't make it across this time, but maybe next time ;) St Catherine's is smaller, the fort you can see I believe dates back to the times when we were scared of French invasions....

here is lovely Amroth, the most beautiful place I have ever taken my PhD!!






And some wool I accidentally collected.... more on that next time :)

    The coastline looks really beautiful! As I have seen so many lovely holiday photos of the British coastline this summer, I think we should go to Britain for our next holiday. I just have been to Yorkshire and I loved it a lot. Thank you for sharing, happy evening, Viola

      I loved your Yorkshire photos! I want to explore the area more one day. The Pembrokeshire coastline is just stunning, there is a lovely coastal path you can follow round. It is however more weather variable than even the rest of the UK! Have a nice weekend :)

    Lovely pictures, don't the different colours on houses at the seaside look gorgeous and bunting in the town, always special.

    It looks as though you had beautiful weather!! I guess that the fact that you are looking for jobs means that you are nearing the end of your PhD? I hope that the search goes well for you. xx

      Thanks Amy :) My funding has finished so am aiming to do the editing whilst working fingers crossed! We were so lucky with weather, it's been fairly pants since we got back!! xx

    Your pictures really make me want to go there (straight away)! I bet your phd thesis enjoyed the scenery too :-)

    How is the job hunt going? Are you looking in Germany as well or "just" the UK? Good luck - I remember the time when I was searching for a job in summer 2013...

      Hehe you should! have a trip to Wales it's great :) Weather variable though... I am starting with the UK but might extend the search to De, it depends on C a bit - he doesn't speak German so would be a bigger challenge. Options are relatively open though :) job hunting sucks I've decided!

    Beautiful photography Helen, I love English seaside's and Tenby is no exception, as children we would visit Tenby and nearby Saundersfoot for our family holidays.

    'Accidentally found wool', you do make me laugh, I too have new yarn and also new fabric. I think there will be some crafty adventures from both of us ahead x

      Thanks Linda! It was our childhood holdiay destination too! C went to Saundersfoot and I went to Amroth, it's weird to think we may have been in the same place! Looking forward to hearing about your crafty projects up your sleeve :) xx
